EDNA
Offering a young girl, Edna,inspired by the dolls of Margarete Steiff (1847-1909). Steiff was a seamstress who founded Margarete Steiff Gmbh in1880. Steiff was wheelchair bound due to childhood polio. She started making stuffed animals as a hobby which later became a world wide business. Originally sold as "pin keeps",her animals have been collected and loved by many.
Edna, who stands 15 3/4" tall, is hand wrought from head to toe with great attention to detail. Her dress is cotton print with a white cotton slip. Her shoes are black leather with black stockings - both hand wrought. She has a lilac knitted hat and sweater fastened with a button.
Edna body is "felted wool". She has a movable head,glass eyes and jointed shoulders and hips.
