BLUE BILL DUCKS - PAIR
Offering a pair of red head blue bills ducks. The hen has a deep blue head, yellow glass eyes and a blue bill ending with a band of white and black tip. She has a white shoulder patch on each wing. The breast is the color of the head. The back is gray/blue feathers and incised feather lines to the tail. The underside is also gray/blue. The carver has fixed a lead pad and leather thong on the underside. The body is hollowed out, hand carved and hand painted.
The drake has a top black/blue head with side red head, yellow glass eyes and a blue bill ending with a band of white and black tip. He has a white shoulder patch on each wing. The breast is black/blue as the top of the head. The back is gray/blue feathers and incised feather lines to the tail .The underside is also gray/blue. The carver has fixed a lead pad and leather thong on the underside. The body is hollowed out, hand carved and hand painted.
These decoys are hand carved, hand painted and signed by Frederick C. Brown. Mr Brown has been carving for years and in 1977 he won "Best in Show" in the Old Schaffer Canal House Decoy Competition. He founded "Barnegat Bay Decoys" which operated in the old Wildfowler factory site in Point Pleasant, N.J. Local carvers were invited to add their works to the inventory giving the public access to Artie Birdsall, Chip Allsopp and Tim Forsyth.
Both ducks are in excellent condition . The dimensions of both ducks = 13"L,6.25"H .
