Handmade baskets have a cachet that has never been equaled. The American artisan basket is highly prized as a valuable and beautiful object.
Offering a handwoven, natural and brown dyed reed "cathead bottom" vase basket with plastic liner. Both reeds are woven together in a "double weave" and" chase weave" pattern with an over stain of oak. The "cathead" was coined by the Shakers because when the basket is turned over, the tips of the corners were said to represent cat's ears and whiskers. Brown dyed reed is woven in to trim the basket top. It measures 11"H.
This basket has been made entirely by hand. All baskets have weaver's stain to prevent the stained reed from running. To keep free of dust, rinse your basket with cold water and set to dry.
